How to get started in CTF for beginners

What is CTF?

Capture the Flag (CTF) is a special kind of information security competitions.

Why?

• Good for information security practice
• Also great if you're going to get in a job related to computer security

Good websites to practice:

• hackthissite.org
• This is a classic. Good for beginners.
• root-me.org
• This is a newer site. France-based. 
• overthewire.org
• This requires you to connect through ssh.
• hackthebox.eu
• Same as above but also offers challenges.
• vulnhub.com
• This is different from the rest. It lets you download a VM then try to hack it. I recommend trying the above sites first.
