How to Enter Game Saves into Memory Card (PS2)

Requirements:
FreeMcBoot INSTALLED (Click here to download) (Or here)
OR uLaunchELF (if you have modchip) (Click here to download)
PS2 Save Builder (Click here to download)
Hard disk/Flash disk

Note: If you don't know if you have a modchip or not (like me >_<), try holding the SQUARE button when turning on the PS2 console. A screen would show up showing the type of modchip installed. For me, it shows DMS4 Pro. Therefore, I would only need to install ULE after installing FMB, then holding TRIANGLE button to open it after renaming the ULE ELF file to BOOT.ELF.

  1. Find a game that you want in GameFAQs (make sure to navigate to PS2 section first)
  2. Once you selected a game, go ahead to the 'Saves' section
  3. Select any one game save file except the Virtual PS3 file (the ones on the top)
  4. After the game save file is downloaded, open it up with Ps2 Save Builder
  5. Copy the  game name shown in 'Root/ID'
  6. Select all the files shown in the Ps2 Save Builder under the 'File Name' column by dragging the mouse
  7. Without deselecting them, right-click the selected files and click 'Extract'
  8. Create a new folder in the save dialog box and rename it to the text you copied from 'Root/ID'
  9. Navigate into the folder you created. DO NOT ENTER anything into the 'File Name'.
  10. Click 'Save'
  11. Locate the folder and transfer it to your flash disk/hard disk
  12. Finally, copy the folder from the flash disk/hard disk to the memory card's root folder 'mc0:'

Enjoy!

Note: The save would not work if the version of the game you're using is not the same version as the save file. (NTSC or PAL) so make sure you check the GAME ID/ROOT ID eg. SLUS-21782 is (NTSC/North American), SLES-55474 is (PAL/European) and SLPM-74278 (PAL/Japanese). So choose the game save files accordingly. There's rarely any game save file for Japanese version but using European version might work by renaming the folder's name.
